Pakistan's Power Grid: A Modernization Journey with Global Implications
In a significant move, the World Bank has approved a substantial investment of $375.9 million to modernize Pakistan's power grid, a project that holds immense potential for the country's energy security and its transition towards renewable energy sources. This initiative, known as the Grid Stability Enhancement Project, is a crucial first step in a decade-long plan to transform Pakistan's electricity transmission network.
A Much-Needed Upgrade
Pakistan's electricity transmission system has historically struggled with instability and bottlenecks, hindering the reliable supply of power and the full utilization of clean energy generation.
